GammaAI 2025
Welcome to the GammaAI 2025 page of the GammaWiki.
Here you will find information on the upcoming GammaAI 2025 seminar on gamma-ray spectrometry that will be held at DTU on the Lyngby Campus, Denmark, October 8-9, 2025.
The seminar will introduce key artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and put emphasis on practical applications in gamma-ray spectrometry. A dedicated session will provide introduction lessons to AI.
The GammaAI 2025 seminar covers also various aspects of gamma-ray spectrometry. The scope will be broad allowing a range of topics to be considered. The following areas could be included (but are not limited to):
- Laboratory, in-situ and mobile measurements
- Whole body measurements
- Uncertainty calculations
- Efficiency determination
- Spectrum analysis and data management
- Monte Carlo simulations
- Nuclear forensics
- Novel/new approaches
- Applications
Participants are encouraged the join a data analysis intercomparison (here) of a soil sample and fill out a survey on their ‘best’ achieved background (here).
Overview and background
This work is supported by the Nordic Nuclear Safety Research (NKS). GammaWiki is a resource webpage for Nordic users of gamma spectrometry. GammaWiki is a product of the NKS GammaSpec 2016 activity, which is an independent continuation of the GammaUser (2014), GammaTest (2013), GammaWorkshop (2011-2012), and GammaSem (2009) activities.
GammaAI 2025 is the twelve event in the series of gamma-ray spectrometry seminars. A page with links to individual information pages for previous seminars can be accessed here.
Seminar cost
The seminar is supported by NKS, Nordic Nuclear Safety Research. No fee will be charged for participation in the seminar. However travel, accommodation and meals not included in the seminar must be covered by the participants themselves.
Registration
Registration must be done using the following link XXX.
The deadline for registration with accommodation (at participants'expenses) is 30/06/2025 23:59.

The hotel is located 10 min from the meeting place.
Reservation can be done when registering for the seminar and payment must be done by the participant to the hotel at arrival.
Data Analysis Intercomparison
There is an opportunity for those interested to participate in a data analysis intercomparison exercise.
Participants are asked to analyse the provided spectrum and send the activity of the identified radionuclides in a natural soil sample.
Intructions and all necessary data can be downloaded here. Files are compressed in a 7z file. The extract all the files you can use 7zip link
The results have to be send to XXX@XXX.XX before 10/09/2025.
Background survey
For the ‘background survey’, participants can upload the form HERE and send the fill form to XXX@XXX.XX The survey is open until 10/09/2025.
