GammaAI 2025

Welcome to the GammaAI 2025 page of the GammaWiki.

Here, you will find information on the upcoming GammaAI 2025 seminar on gamma-ray spectrometry, which will be held at DTU on the Lyngby Campus, Denmark, from October 8–9, 2025.

The seminar will introduce key artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and place emphasis on practical applications in gamma-ray spectrometry. A dedicated session will provide introductory lessons on AI.
The GammaAI 2025 seminar also covers various aspects of gamma-ray spectrometry. The scope will be broad, allowing for a range of topics to be considered. The following areas may be included (but are not limited to):

  • Laboratory, in situ, and mobile measurements
  • Whole body measurements
  • Uncertainty calculations
  • Efficiency determination
  • Spectrum analysis and data management
  • Monte Carlo simulations
  • Nuclear forensics
  • Novel approaches
  • Applications

Participants are encouraged to join a data analysis intercomparison (here) of a soil sample and fill out a survey on their ‘best’ achieved background (here).

Overview and background

This work is supported by the Nordic Nuclear Safety Research (NKS). GammaWiki is a resource webpage for Nordic users of gamma spectrometry. GammaWiki is a product of the NKS GammaSpec 2016 activity, which is an independent continuation of the GammaUser (2014), GammaTest (2013), GammaWorkshop (2011-2012), and GammaSem (2009) activities.
GammaAI 2025 is the twelfth event in the series of gamma-ray spectrometry seminars. A page with links to individual information pages for previous seminars can be accessed here.

Programme

Not yet available.

Seminar cost

The seminar is supported by NKS, Nordic Nuclear Safety Research.
No fee will be charged for participation in the seminar. However, travel, accommodation, and meals not included in the seminar must be covered by the participants themselves.

Registration

Registration must be done using the following link XXX.

The deadline for registration with accommodation (at the participants’ expense) is 30/06/2025 23:59.

The price is 1075 DKK per night for a standard single room.

The group reservation covers 07/10/2025 to 09/10/2025 (stays can be shorter) and is valid until 30/06/2025 23:59.
The hotel is located 10 minutes from the meeting place.
Reservations can be made when registering for the seminar, and participants must pay the hotel directly upon arrival.

Data Analysis Intercomparison

There is an opportunity for those interested to participate in a data analysis intercomparison exercise.
Participants are asked to analyze the provided spectrum and send the activities of the identified radionuclides in a natural soil sample.
Instructions and all necessary data can be previewed and downloaded here. The files are compressed into a 7z archive. To extract all the files, you can use 7zip link.
The results must be sent to XXX@XXX.XX before 10/09/2025.

Background survey

For the background survey, participants can download the form here and send the completed form, along with a spectrum (Genie, ORTEC, or ASCII format), to XXX@XXX.XX.
The survey is open until 10/09/2025.
