Sample material is powdered glass fibre air filter containing remains of recent nuclear power plant accident fallout. Air filter material is Camfil glass fibre CS 5.0. The exposed filter has been grinded to a coarse powder, mixed and divided into individual samples each containing approximately 2 grams of grinded filter material. Activity contents of each sample have been determined individually to ensure homogeneity. | Sample material is powdered glass fibre air filter containing remains of recent nuclear power plant accident fallout. Samples will be shipped with tracking numbers as non-radioactive shipments. Contents shall be labeled as “scientific sample of no commercial value”. Shipping arrangements for participants outside EU countries expecting customs clearance issues are asked to discuss these issues with the organizers in advance to ensure delivery without delay. Tracking numbers will be provided to participants via email following sample dispatch. | Samples will be shipped with tracking numbers as non-radioactive shipments. Introduction
Here you can find information on the intercomparison exercise held in conjunction with the GammaUser 2014 workshop.
Report form for results
Make sure to report your results using the provided reporting form. This will simplify the comparison of different teams' results.
Spectra
There are two spectra provided for your analysis. The first file ICEEX1401.zip is a zipped archive containing - spectrum to be analysed (ICEX1401) - calibration spectrum (CalibN4) - background spectrum (BGRDN4) - setup and calibration data (phd + xlsx) The spectra are in two formats (ORTEC chn + phd ascii format).
The second file contains
Filter sample
Please download the document. The overall artificial activity within each sample is well below 10 Bq. This ensures that the samples can be shipped and received as non-radioactive material. Participating laboratories can keep the sample material following the exercise. Samples shall be shipped to registered participants using conventional mail. Please register by sending an email with your lab's name, contact person, email address, telephone number and mailing address to gammauser2014@gr.is.
