GammaAI 2025
Welcome to the GammaAI 2025 page of GammaWiki.
Here you will find information about the upcoming GammaAI 2025 seminar on gamma-ray spectrometry, taking place at DTU Lyngby Campus, Denmark, from October 8 to 9, 2025.
The seminar will introduce essential concepts of artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to emphasize potential practical applications within gamma-ray spectrometry. A dedicated session will provide introductory lessons on AI.
GammaAI 2025 will also cover a broad range of topics related to gamma-ray spectrometry. The seminar's scope is intentionally wide, allowing discussions on various relevant areas.
The following areas may be included (but are not limited to):
- Laboratory, in situ, and mobile measurements
- Whole body measurements
- Uncertainty calculations
- Efficiency determination
- Spectrum analysis and data management
- Monte Carlo simulations
- Nuclear forensics
- Novel approaches
- Applications
Participants are encouraged to join the data analysis intercomparison exercise using a soil sample (available here) and complete a survey regarding the lowest background levels they have achieved (available here).

Overview and background
This work is supported by the Nordic Nuclear Safety Research (NKS). GammaWiki is a resource webpage for Nordic users of gamma spectrometry. GammaWiki is a product of the NKS GammaSpec 2016 activity, which is an independent continuation of the GammaUser (2014), GammaTest (2013), GammaWorkshop (2011-2012), and GammaSem (2009) activities.
GammaAI 2025 is the twelfth event in the series of gamma-ray spectrometry seminars. A page with links to individual information pages for previous seminars can be accessed here.
Seminar cost
The seminar is supported by NKS, Nordic Nuclear Safety Research.
No fee will be charged for participation in the seminar. However, travel, accommodation, and meals not included in the seminar must be covered by the participants themselves.
Registration
The deadline for registration for the seminar was 10/09/2025.
Data Analysis Intercomparison
An opportunity is available for interested participants to join a data analysis intercomparison exercise.
Participants are requested to analyse the provided spectrum and submit activity results for the radionuclides identified in a natural soil sample.
Instructions and all necessary data can be previewed and downloaded here. The files are compressed into a 7z archive. You can extract the files using 7zip link.
Results should be sent to gammaai2025 before 30/09/2025.
Background survey
For the background survey, participants can download the form here.
Completed forms, along with a background spectrum file (Genie, ORTEC, or ASCII format), should be submitted to gammaai2025 by 30/09/2025.
